| LEN MAKOWSKI - Saxophones and Flute
Len hails from Buffalo, NY and began playing musical instruments at age five. At fourteen he began playing professionally with the Rhythm Kings and worked with bands throughout high school. After serving in the US Army Len returned to school and played with horn groups and top 40 bands until he went on the road with touring acts for ten years. He worked with show bands including The World's Fare, Pat Mills & Company and the Forum Delegation. During that time he was also a studio musician in New York and Miami.
While living in Shelburne Vermont, Len was a studio musician, performer and woodwind instructor for nine years while working with Bloootomy, Jenni and the Junkateers, and the Swinging Vermont Big Band. Len has played in big bands, horn groups (funk and soul) small jazz ensembles, blues, cover, pop, tribute, concert bands, and community orchestras . Len now resides in Lehigh Acres, FL, with his wife and three daughters. Some of his favorite influences include Sonny Stitt, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Sam Butera, Hubert Laws, Tower of Power, Pat Martino, and Joey Defrancesco.
